​Khabir began her career as a public health professional using cultural competency to improve HIV service delivery and capacity building in countries like Haiti, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa. She has worked across multiple fields supporting philanthropy, education, and the arts, to create opportunities and mobilize resources for students, nonprofits, artists, entrepreneurs, and traditionally marginalized communities.

Over the last decade, Khabir has worked collaboratively to establish philanthropic funds for black led nonprofits and businesses in Central Georgia, organized community members through innovative planning and co-design, and developed community programs and services that use strategic planning to drive impact. This work has engaged hundreds of residents and community members and has led to over $18m in federal, state, and philanthropic support to date, improving infrastructure and impacting public health and safety.

​Khabir has been named 2020 "5 under 40 young leader" by Macon Magazine. She is a 2019 PLACES Fellow with The Funder’s Network and a 2018 Emerging Cities Champion with 8 80 Cities/John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. She was named the 2018 Emerging Leader by NewTown Macon’s Partners in Progress. Khabir is also a member of the 2018 Changing Faces of Philanthropy Cohort with the Young Black and Giving Back Institute.

Khabir holds a B.A. in Sociology from Fisk University and a Master of Public Health from Morehouse School of Medicine.
